A woman I deeply respect and admire often refers to her daughter (the child of her womb) and her spiritual daughter (the child God gave her to parent). As a big fan and believer in found families, I love the message of this post. xo
I often differentiate children of mothers as from the womb or of the body, verses of the heart and spirit.
A number of children I fostered reflected to me that they felt more like my “real” children than that of their biological parents, and I always tell them that’s because they are.
Motherhood is a state of being and we’re all surrogates for God in our own ways. ❤️🕊
