We’re trained on what to say and how to argue — while chastised for thinking “too much” about anything that doesn’t feel right.
“Just follow the script as the leader instructed and everything will be fine, you’ll see.”
We get applauded for commentary that makes people smile and shushed over dialogue that begs question or tears.

Interesting use of this rhyme given its seeming original history. Growing up eons ago, this was a popular song just because is sounded nice. But, its history purportedly alludes to the time during the plague of 1665-66. Many folklore historians believe this song was written about 100 years later. A well written and researched article provides insights as to this songs origins. Also included are brief notes about other childhood songs many of us grew up with.
